Dr. Tingting Mu

Biography

Tingting Mu is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester, specializing in Machine Learning and Machine Learning Robotics. She earned her B.Eng. degree from the School of the Gifted Young at the University of Science and Technology of China in 2004 and completed her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Electronics at the University of Liverpool in 2008. Mu joined the Department of Computer Science at the University of Manchester in 2016 after serving as a lecturer in Electrical Engineering and Electronics at the University of Liverpool. Her research focuses on developing advanced mathematical modeling and large-scale optimization techniques. This includes the simulation of human intelligence and the analysis of complex real-world data, aiming to construct effective machine learning models for tasks such as matching, recognition, prediction, ranking, and inference. Additionally, she works on algorithms to discover latent structures and extract information from large-scale, noisy, and unstructured data, contributing to the development of text mining systems. Her teaching includes courses in Machine Learning and Natural Language Systems, reflecting her extensive expertise in scientific data analytics and alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
