Dr. Tingting Mu

Biography

Tingting Mu received her B.Eng. degree from the School of the Gifted Young, University of Science and Technology of China in 2004, followed by a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, University of Liverpool in 2008. She joined the University of Manchester's Department of Computer Science in 2016 and has previously served as a lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics at the University of Liverpool. Her research primarily focuses on the development of advanced mathematical modeling and large-scale optimization techniques aimed at simulating human intelligence and analyzing complex, real-world data. Dr. Mu's work includes constructing effective machine learning models to automate tasks such as matching, recognition, prediction, and language vision understanding. Additionally, she develops algorithms to uncover latent structures in large-scale noisy unstructured data, which supports the development of text mining systems. Her teaching experience includes courses such as Machine Learning and Natural Language Systems, and she has been actively involved in research areas related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly around digital and sustainable futures.
