Dr. Tisha King

Biography

Tisha King is an Assistant Professor in the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of Waterloo. Her research program broadly examines ethical judgments in decision-making processes, with a specific focus on experiments that investigate the judgments and decisions of taxpayers and tax professionals. Tisha employs qualitative methods, including interviews, to explore significant social justice issues within her field. Her academic credentials include a PhD in Management (Accounting) from Wilfrid Laurier University, an MSc in Finance from the University of Leicester, and a BSc in Accounting from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill. She is also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in Ontario. Tisha has a comprehensive professional background that includes previous positions as an Assistant Professor at the Rowe School of Business at Dalhousie University and as a Finance Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Her research has garnered attention, with several publications in reputable journals, including the Canadian Tax Journal and the Journal of Business Ethics. Outside of academia, Tisha is actively involved in editorial boards and has contributed to numerous funding projects aimed at enhancing understanding of control systems and investor judgments in the context of social justice.
