Biography

Dr. Tisha Ornstein received her doctorate from the University of Cambridge, England in 2001. After completing graduate school, she returned to Toronto to work at the Hospital for Sick Children, specifically in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry division. Prior to completing her postgraduate work, she trained as a Clinical Neuropsychologist, gaining experience in hospitals including the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences. Dr. Ornstein became a licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist in December 2005. She began her career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Ryerson University, where she has supervised students at varying levels and welcomes new members to her lab on a rolling basis. Her research interests focus on neurocognition, interventions, and EEG applications, specifically investigating neurocognitive outcomes related to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and other spectrum disorders. She also evaluates post-traumatic sequelae from Traumatic Brain Injury and addresses questions regarding cognitive abilities and emotional distress. Dr. Ornstein has active collaborations with the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the Hospital for Sick Children, as well as private practitioners across North America.
