Dr. Titus Galama

Biography

Titus Galama is an Associate Professor in the Economics Department at the University of Southern California (USC) Dornsife Center for Economic and Social Research (CESR). He also serves as the Director of the CESR Center for the Study of Human Capital. Galama has an extensive academic background with a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Tilburg and a prior career in astrophysics. He has been a Senior Economist at USC since March 2013 and has held various academic roles, including Research Fellow at the Tinbergen Institute in Amsterdam. His research interests are broad and include economic theory, human health capital, socioeconomic disparities, and labor markets. He has led and participated in significant research grants focusing on health behavior and the interplay of genetics in cognitive functioning and aging. Galama’s scholarly productivity is supported by multiple prestigious grants, and he has published prominent research in various areas of economics related to social sciences and public health.
