Tlek Tapani is a PhD student in the Ultrafast Nanophotonics research group at Umeå University, under the supervision of Nicolò Maccaferri. He completed his undergraduate studies in physics at the University of Science and Technology of China, earning a Bachelor's degree in 2019. Tlek then attained a Master of Science degree in Physics from the University of Luxembourg in 2021, where he conducted a master's thesis on 'Ultrafast Charge Spin Dynamics in Magnetoplasmonic Materials', supervised by Daniele Brida and Nicolò Maccaferri. Following a short-term position as a research assistant within the group until early 2022, he embarked on his PhD journey focusing on unveiling nonthermal magnetization dynamics in nanomaterials supporting plasmons and the collective coherent oscillation of charges in metals. His research extends to developing an advanced pump-probe spectroscopy setup that allows for the generation of few-optical cycles of visible and near-infrared light pulses to excite and observe plasmonic effects and magnetic processes at the nanoscale.
