Biography

Tobias Granmo’s love for the violin has been an essential part of his life since childhood. He has studied in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Vienna under renowned violin professors such as Milan Vitek, Dora Schwarzberg, Günther Pichler, and Ernst Kovacic, who have inspired him to uphold the great tradition of violin music. Granmo has a profound interest in contemporary music and regularly collaborates as a marimba soloist with Daniel Berg, forming the Duo Granmo/Berg, which tours Europe frequently. He has served as a violin professor and head of chamber music at his academy, and from 2011 to 2017, he was the director of studies for the classical music department. Granmo is also active as a guest teacher at various music academies across Europe and participates as a jury member in both national and international competitions. His teaching philosophy is centered around meeting the unique demands of each student and providing perspectives through guest teachers. He has played modern violins and has been a sponsored artist by Thomastik since 2017.
