Dr. Tobias Meyer

Biography

Tobias Meyer is a Joseph C. Hinsey Professor in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at Weill Cornell Medical College. His research focuses on understanding the mechanisms that control how human cells move, divide, and interact to build and maintain tissues and organs. He employs cutting-edge live-cell microscopy techniques to investigate the signaling systems that orchestrate cell movement and proliferation, both in normal and cancerous cells. Meyer’s laboratory aims to identify new targets for cancer therapy and to discover innovative methods to promote tissue repair. Over the years, he has contributed significantly to the field with numerous publications detailing the molecular mechanisms behind cellular dynamics, particularly focusing on the role of mitogens, cell contact, and stress signaling inputs in tissue maintenance and cancer progression.
