Biography

Professor Tobias Schaetz specializes in Experimental Quantum Atomic Physics, focusing on the fundamental processes of nature through the observation and control of atoms and ions. His research engages a combination of traditional and advanced trapping techniques, exploring a wide range of quantum processes. His work encompasses significant topics such as Trapped Atomic Ions, Quantum Simulations, and the interaction between atoms and molecules. He has an extensive publication record including studies on noise mitigation in multi-material layered surface-electrode traps and the exploration of atom-ion Feshbach resonances. His research contributions have been recognized and funded by the German Science Foundation and the European Research Council. He is actively involved in mentoring doctoral and master’s students in the field.
