Biography

Tobia Fattore's empirical research encompasses the fields of sociology, childhood sociology, and social work. He is currently engaged in projects that focus on the sociological examination of children's well-being, analyzing children's understandings of well-being, reflecting the processes of modernization. His studies have investigated children's work in developed economies and how the transformations in the world of work have created opportunities for children's social integration. Fattore is the coordinating lead researcher in a multinational study titled 'Children's Understandings of Well-being - Global and Local Contexts,' which involves a qualitative investigation of children's experiences of well-being from a comparative global perspective. He explores the importance of local, regional, and national contexts on children’s well-being. Additionally, Fattore serves as the co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal 'Child Indicators Research,' which focuses on the presentation of empirical research and theoretical discussions related to children's well-being, especially concerning measurement indicators. He is an active board member of the International Society for Child Indicators and the Research Committee on Sociology of Childhood of the International Sociological Association.
