Dr. Todd Cort

Biography

Todd Cort is a Senior Lecturer at the Yale School of Management and Faculty Director of the Sustainability Program for MBA Executives. He also serves as the Faculty Co-Director at the Yale Center for Business and Environment. His research primarily focuses on corporate sustainability and sustainable finance, emphasizing financially material environmental and social risks to corporations and investment portfolios. His work spans various topics, including sustainability metrics, strategic legal risk, and the assessment of intangible value in portfolio construction. Dr. Cort holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Colorado, Boulder (2000), an MS in Finance from the same institution (1997), and a BS in Environmental Chemistry from the University of California, San Diego (1993). He has authored various publications, including articles in the Journal of Sustainable Finance & Investment and Npj Climate Action, and he has contributed to notable books on sustainability and ESG. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Cort is engaged with multiple advisory boards related to sustainability and corporate responsibility.
