Biography

Todd Eavis received his PhD in 2003 from Dalhousie University and became an NSERC postdoctoral fellow at Carleton University. He joined the faculty of Concordia University in 2004, where he currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering. His general research focus is on the design of programming languages and software development environments. Eavis’s research explores issues related to the design of approachable software development frameworks with the overarching objective of reducing the opacity and complexity inherent in contemporary language syntax. His work aims to allow developers to focus more on what applications are expected to do rather than how computers interpret them. He has a strong interest in continuous integration and delivery as well as platform-agnostic development. He has contributed to various high-profile publications, focusing on innovation in programming languages and software engineering practices.
