The Molecular Ions Research Group focuses on molecular physics, particularly precision measurements involving simple molecular ions to test quantum electrodynamics. By combining experimental and theoretical approaches, the group seeks to understand the spectra and dynamics of molecular Rydberg states, particularly H2^2. The research emphasizes the dynamics of superexcited states and their interactions in processes such as ionization and dissociation continua. The group employs molecular Rydberg states for precision measurements and state-selective preparation of molecular ions. They utilize advanced techniques such as laser cooling and trapping of molecules to achieve high-precision measurements. The lab not only conducts research but also offers bachelor and master projects that encompass both theoretical and experimental aspects.
