Biography

Tom Ezard is an Evolutionary Ecologist whose research focuses on the structure of individuals, populations, and communities, and how these structures interact with environmental change to shape ecological and evolutionary dynamics. His interests lie in bridging the fields of micro- and macroevolution, with particular emphasis on the scaling of ecological dynamics across individuals, populations, and ecosystems. He also explores demography, conservation, and life history evolution. Ezard has been involved in significant research efforts, including studies on the impact of natural and anthropogenic disturbances on human population growth and plasticity and adaptive divergence as part of domestication models. His contributions to the field have been recognized through various research projects and fellowships, and he is a council member of the British Ecological Society, serving from 2017 to 2023.
