Biography

Dr. Tom Wu is a Visiting Professorial Fellow at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney. He was hired at the end of 2017 under the Strategic Hires Retention Pathways (SHARP) scheme. Dr. Wu earned his B.S. degree from Zhejiang University in 1995 and his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2002. Before joining UNSW, he worked at Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia. He has authored 350 peer-reviewed papers with over 22,000 citations and an h-index of 82, according to Google Scholar. In 2019, he was listed as a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics. His research group focuses on the vapor-solution-based synthesis and physical properties of novel materials, particularly transition-metal oxides and hybrid halide perovskites, with applications in optoelectronics and energy-related devices.
