Biography

Tomas Ochoa Abett De La Torre is a Research Assistant and PhD candidate in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London. His research primarily focuses on establishing novel operational paradigms for power systems dominated by Inverter-Based Resources (IBRs) as part of the Leverhulme project 'System Services for 100% Renewable Grids'. Before joining Imperial, he worked as a Consultant Engineer at the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E) in the Department of Electrical Engineering at UTFSM, where he assisted in the development of reports for several organizations, including Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Chilean Ministry of Energy, particularly focusing on the national accelerated decarbonization plan.
