Biography

Tommaso Gabrieli is an Associate Professor at the Bartlett School of Planning, University College London. With a background in theoretical economics rooted in the ambrosian tradition of social welfare, he has a profound interest in the socio-economic dynamics of cities, particularly in relation to social mobility and the existence of poverty traps. His current research operates at the intersection of urban planning and real estate economics, focusing on topics such as spatial segregation, poverty traps, and the real estate valuation of social environmental factors. He also explores behavioral economic theory within the context of asset pricing and urban planning. Tommaso earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Warwick and an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics. Before joining UCL, he held various academic roles at the University of Reading, City University London, University of Warwick, and the Catholic University of Milan.
