Biography

Tommaso Valletti is a Professor of Economics at Imperial College Business School and an adjunct professor at the Norwegian School of Economics. He has previously taught at the London School of Economics, University of Rome 'Tor Vergata', Telecom ParisTech/Ecole Polytechnique, and the University of Turin. Tommaso holds a magna cum laude degree in engineering and a flute diploma from Turin, as well as an MSc and PhD in economics from the London School of Economics. He is the director of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) Research Policy Network on Competition Policy and has served as the Chief Competition Economist at the European Commission from 2016 to 2019. Tommaso has held various editorial roles in academic journals and published numerous articles in prestigious journals such as the American Economic Review and the Economic Journal. His main research interests include industrial economics, regulation, and competition economics. He has advised various bodies, including the European Commission and the OECD, on topics related to mobile telephony markets and spectrum auctions.
