Tongalp H. Tezel is an internationally recognized clinician-scientist and leader in the management of vitreoretinal diseases, serving as the Chang Family Endowed Professor of Ophthalmology at Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Tezel has developed significant techniques utilized in tissue engineering for retinal cell replacement therapies and holds numerous patents related to his contributions to the field. He is an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Retina Society, and has received multiple accolades for his contributions to ophthalmology, including the American Academy Ophthalmology's Achievement Award and the Alpha Omega Alpha Faculty Membership.
