Biography

Professor Tongming Zhou received his PhD in Fluid Mechanics from the University of Newcastle in Australia in 1999. After completing his doctoral studies, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow under Professor R.A. Antonia for 1.5 years before joining Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. In July 2007, he became a faculty member in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering at the University of Western Australia. He actively integrates industry involvement in his teaching through guest lectures, industrial case studies, and site visits. Professor Zhou's research bridges fundamental fluid mechanics and practical engineering applications, benefiting both industry and society. He collaborates widely with colleagues at UWA and within the global research community, using both experimental and numerical methods. He has played a pivotal role in upgrading UWA's experimental facilities and has acquired advanced measurement equipment to enhance experiential learning.
