Dr. Toni Cao

Biography

Dr. Toni Qian Cao is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neuro-oncologist at Stanford Health Care. Dr. Cao specializes in managing brain and spinal tumors, including low-grade gliomas and glioblastomas, with expertise in the spread of cancer to the central nervous system (CNS) and surrounding brain tissues. She is committed to providing high-quality care that prioritizes the goals and needs of her patients, offering compassionate treatment and deep knowledge of tumor therapies and the neurological complications of cancer. Her research focuses on improving the identification and treatment of brain tumors and metastases. She has investigated factors impacting the development of brain metastases from breast cancer and explored combination treatments for glioblastoma, a type of malignant brain tumor. Dr. Cao is interested in novel neuroimaging techniques for primary and metastatic CNS tumors and has published her research in various peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Neuro-Oncology and Neurology.
