Biography

Tonio Buonassisi is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His research focuses on the pioneering application of artificial intelligence to develop new materials for societally beneficial applications. He has conducted extensive research on solar photovoltaics, including techno-economic analysis that has assisted technology developments in dozens of companies.
