Biography

Tonslyn Toure joined the Brown Faculty in 2017 after graduating from Brown Medical School. Following residency training at Boston Medical Center, Dr. Toure completed a fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Currently, Dr. Toure serves as the Clinic Site Director for the endocrine fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital, where he is involved in patient care and the education of fellows. His research interests focus on diabetes technology and wellness, and he is the division director for the insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor programs. Dr. Toure also plays a significant role in promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as the DEI officer and wellness officer within the Brown Medicine Endocrine Division. Additionally, he attends the Endocrine consultation service at Rhode Island Hospital and teaches an endocrinology pathophysiology course at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. His work also includes initiatives aimed at bias reduction in medicine, concentrating on methods to decrease racial, gender, and sexual orientation biases in the healthcare profession and the provider/patient relationship.
