Dr. Tony Choi

Biography

Tony Jaehyun Choi is an Assistant Professor in the Business-Society Management department at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. He completed his PhD in organization studies at the Schulich School of Business, York University, and began his current position at RSM in 2021. His research employs quantitative methods, primarily focusing on multilevel panel analyses to explore community and country-level ethical infrastructures that help control organizational wrongdoing and ensure that organizations remain socially responsive. His work reflects the emergence of sustainability due diligence and the importance of restraining wrongful actions related to human rights violations and excessive emissions, recognizing the responsibilities of both academia and industries. Choi's research interests include the roles of social control agents such as media, administrations, and trade associations in imposing sanctions on wrongdoers, the influences of socio-political and cultural environments including regional ideology and social capital on organizational wrongdoing, and the processes of social responsiveness in strategic risk management.
