Biography

Tony Desmond is a professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Guelph. He received his PhD from the University of Waterloo in 1982 and then joined the University of Guelph in 1983 as a full professor. Desmond has also held visiting professor positions at several prestigious institutions, including the University of Odense in Denmark, Stanford University in the USA, the University of Alberta in Canada, and University College Cork in Ireland. Desmond is a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, the Statistical Society of Canada, the Irish Statistical Association, and the International Society for Bayesian Analysis, underlining his prominent role in the statistical community.
