Biography

Tony Jun Huang received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2005. He is known for his extensive contributions in the fields of acoustofluidics, optofluidics, and biomedical micro-electro-mechanical systems (BioMEMS). Over his career, Huang has authored or co-authored 300 peer-reviewed journal publications, which have garnered over 38,000 citations, reflecting his influential work in these areas. He holds 30 issued and pending patents in the related fields. Huang is a member of the National Academy of Inventors and has been recognized as a fellow in six professional societies, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). His research has received numerous prestigious awards, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Director's New Innovator Award and the IEEE Sensors Council Technical Achievement Award.
