Biography

Tony Kenyon is a Professor of Nanoelectronic and Nanophotonic Materials at University College London, where he also serves as Vice Dean (Research) and heads the Nanoelectronic and Nanophotonic Materials group. His research focuses on the application of nanostructured materials in nanoelectronics and photonics, with a particular interest in resistance switching devices, especially memristors based on oxides. His work involves CMOS-compatible oxides and their use in novel non-volatile memories and hardware acceleration for Machine Learning. Over the past 12 years, his group has pioneered advances in silicon oxide memristance, including the first conclusive demonstration of oxygen emission in electrically stressed silicon oxide and the development of neural behavior in memristors. These contributions have earned him a nomination for the World Technology Network Award and recognition from UCL's business awards. Kenyon is also the founder of Intrinsic Semiconductor Technologies, a company aimed at commercializing this technology.
