Biography

Tony Ng is the Richard Dimbleby Professor of Cancer Research at King’s College London. With a mix of training and expertise in medicine, immunology, cancer cell biology, and biochemistry, he focuses on the development of advanced imaging techniques, particularly radionuclide imaging tracers and targeted molecules. Since 2008, he has directed the CRUK-funded KCL-UCL Comprehensive Cancer Imaging Centre, emphasizing a translatable Imaging-OMIC combination approach in clinical studies. His research explores the use of tissue circulating exosomes in conjunction with clinical imaging to tailor cancer treatments, particularly for HER-targeted therapies. Ng's work has demonstrated the significance of exosomal measurements in predicting treatment responses in head and neck cancer, heavily influencing current understanding of immune surveillance mechanisms. As a leader in multidisciplinary cancer research, he was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 2013 and a Fellow of the European Academy of Cancer Sciences in 2017. He actively contributes to defining new methodologies in the field of cancer biotherapeutics and tumor immunology, crossing disciplinary boundaries to elevate cancer research and treatment.
