Biography

Tony Samuel is a lecturer and Deputy Director of Business Engagement Innovation in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Exeter. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham. In addition to his academic roles, he serves as an advisory board member for the Academy for the Mathematical Sciences and is recognized as a Knowledge Exchange Champion within the KE Hub. Furthermore, he is a member of the EPSRC's peer review college. Tony has previously held academic positions at notable institutions, including California Polytechnic State University, Universität Bremen, Australian National University, and the University of St Andrews. He has also benefited from prolonged research stays at prestigious research centers such as the Hausdorff Research Institute for Mathematics, Humboldt–Universität zu Berlin, the Institut Mittag–Leffler, and South China University of Technology. This summer in 2025, he will serve as a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Statistics at Stanford University.
