Professor Dr. Torben Sigsgaard

Biography

Torben Sigsgaard is a physician and researcher at Aarhus University, specializing in environmental exposure and health effects. He leads a core facility dedicated to studying the impacts of environmental factors like air pollution and organic compounds on human health. His research focuses on monitoring respiratory responses to various pollutants and understanding individual susceptibility to environmental exposures. Over the years, he has expanded his studies to include larger cohorts and various significant projects, notably through collaborations with Danish and European research institutions. His work utilizes advanced methods to explore the biological effects of air pollutants on heart and lung health, providing crucial insights into respiratory diseases and non-communicable diseases. Sigsgaard has actively contributed to public health education and serves as a program director for the PhD program in Public Health at Aarhus University.
