Dr. Tormod Westvik

Biography

Tormod Westvik, MD, is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon at Yale School of Medicine specializing in a broad range of reconstructive and aesthetic procedures, including breast, body, hand, and facial surgeries with a special focus on rhinoplasties. He has extensive experience in treating skin malignancies and performing breast reconstructions. Dr. Westvik obtained his medical degree from the University of Oslo and completed his residency in general surgery at Yale - New Haven Hospital before finishing the Harvard Combined Plastic Surgery Residency program, where he served as Chief Resident. He previously held the position of Chief of Plastic Surgery at Telemark Hospital Health Trust in Norway, the country’s largest teaching hospital for Plastic Surgery. In this role, he was also the Program Director for the training program. He has established new public Plastic Reconstructive Surgery services and has successfully run a private practice for 8 years focused on rhinoplasties. With an active role in academic circles, Dr. Westvik has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and received invitations to speak and instruct at both national and international meetings. He is a past president of the Norwegian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and has represented Norway in various roles at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). He emphasizes a patient-centered team approach to treatment plans, aiming for realistic long-term results to improve quality of life.
