Biography

Torrey Shanks is an Associate Professor in Political Science, specializing in political theory. He is broadly interested in the history of political thought, feminist theory, and language politics, with particular expertise in early modern political thought and rhetoric. His current research project, titled 'Improperty,' investigates the invocations of property in the context of political action theory, supported by a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada Insight grant (2019-2022).
