Dr. Tove Lagerberg

Biography

Tove Edmar Lagerberg is a licensed speech language pathologist and a senior lecturer specializing in speech language pathology. Her primary teaching area focuses on stuttering, with a particular emphasis on treating teenagers. Tove has a clinical background as a speech language pathologist, working with both children and adults who stutter at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, where she also served as a coordinator for Intensive Stuttering Therapy. She successfully defended her doctoral thesis on the assessment of intelligibility in children in 2013. Currently, she is involved in a research project at the University of Oslo that concentrates on the treatment of stuttering in preschool children. Tove has contributed to multiple studies funded by the Swedish Research Council, focusing on various aspects of speech disorders and their treatment. Her research highlights the effects of stuttering treatment, particularly assessing the impact of therapies on intelligibility and communication attitudes in various demographics. She also supervises master's theses and is responsible for courses within the Speech Language Pathology program at Sahlgrenska Academy. Tove is an active member of the Stuttering Research Educational Network and participates in several international research initiatives addressing fluency disorders.
