Biography

Tracey Chenier is an Associate Professor at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC), University of Guelph, specializing in Theriogenology. After graduating from OVC in 1992, she gained experience in mixed animal practice before returning to graduate studies. She became board-certified in Theriogenology by the American College of Theriogenologists in 1996 and completed her DVSc. Following a five-year stint in private equine practice, she returned to the OVC faculty in 2002. Her research focuses on equine reproduction, with specific interest in causes of abortion in mares and issues related to persistent breeding induced endometritis. Current projects include investigating the seroprevalence of Neospora caninum among Ontario broodmares and evaluating N-acetylcysteine treatment for persistent endometritis. Chenier is also dedicated to teaching and provides students with hands-on experience through various Theriogenology rotations, enhancing their skills in reproductive techniques. Her contributions to the field are documented through numerous publications, which explore various dimensions of equine reproductive health and techniques.
