Biography

Traci C. Green is an epidemiologist whose research focuses on drug use, opioid use disorder, and drug-related injury. She earned a Master of Science in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from McGill University and a PhD in Epidemiology from Yale University. Currently, she serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor in Epidemiology and Emergency Medicine at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University, while also directing the Opioid Policy Research Collaborative at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University. Previously, she was the Deputy Director of the Boston Medical Center Injury Prevention Center and an Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine at Boston University Schools of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Green co-directs the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) on Opioids and Overdose at Rhode Island Hospital and has been instrumental in creating resources such as www.prescribetoprevent.org for prescribers and pharmacists. She has also developed the ASI-MV®, a real-time illicit prescription drug abuse surveillance system. Her work aims to enhance consumer safety, develop preventive interventions, and monitor the illicit drug supply. Dr. Green serves as an expert advisor to the Rhode Island Governor on addiction and overdose issues, consulting with the CDC on public health and safety initiatives. She has received funding from various organizations including the CDC and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and has contributed to significant public health discussions regarding opioid pain management.
