Tracy Young-Pearse is an Associate Professor at the Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Harvard Medical School. Her research focuses on the identification of novel therapeutic targets for treating Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders. Young-Pearse’s lab employs molecular approaches to study the functions of genes involved in these diseases, utilizing iPSC models to investigate early-onset Alzheimer’s linked to APP mutations. The lab's research seeks to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s and test anti-Aβ immunotherapies. In addition, the lab is exploring neuropsychiatric disorders, including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and autism spectrum disorder using patient-derived iPSCs and gene editing techniques. Young-Pearse has published numerous studies that contribute to the understanding of neural development and neurodegenerative conditions.
