Travis J.A. Craddock is an Associate Professor and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Quantum Neurobiology at the University of Waterloo. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Guelph, followed by a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Alberta. His graduate research focused on sub-neural biomolecular information processing and nanoscale descriptions of neuroscience related to memory, consciousness, and cognitive dysfunction in neurodegenerative disorders. Prior to his current position, he served as the Associate Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Nova Southeastern University, where he directed Clinical Systems Biology at the Institute for Neuro-Immune Medicine. His research is centered on understanding the physical and molecular processes in neuroinflammation, aiming to improve diagnostics and identify novel treatment strategies for neuroinflammatory diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. He seeks to unravel the complex dynamics of the brain's immune response and its effects on neuron function, with a goal of developing innovative therapeutic and diagnostic approaches. Dr. Craddock is also committed to mentoring and fostering student engagement in cutting-edge research.
