Biography

Travis Wiens is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the same university, obtained in 2008. Prior to his doctoral studies, he completed both his M.Sc. in 2004 and B.Sc. in 2002 at the University of Saskatchewan. His research interests are varied and include Fluid Power, Acoustic Sensing, Dynamic Modelling, Mining, Mechatronics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. He is actively involved in several research groups focused on Control Systems and Robotics, as well as Fluid Power. His work aims to solve complex engineering problems through innovative approaches and the application of advanced technological solutions. Wiens is committed to educating the next generation of engineers and contributes actively to the academic community through teaching and research publications.
