Biography

Trevor Lentz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke University. His research centers on understanding how psychological and behavioral factors influence outcomes related to persistent pain, disability, healthcare costs, and opioid use in populations experiencing musculoskeletal pain within orthopedic surgery contexts. He has contributed to the development of screening tools designed for use in orthopedic rehabilitation settings, such as the OSPRO and SPARE Assessment Tools. Currently, Lentz leads a research team focused on the implementation of treatment pathways in the AIM-Back trial, which is an embedded pragmatic clinical trial centered on non-pharmacological management of low back pain in veterans. This work is funded by the NIH-VA-DoD Pain Management Collaboratory.
