Dr. Trevor Mccrisken

Biography

Trevor McCrisken is a Professor of Foreign Policy at the University of Warwick, specializing in an array of topics related to American foreign policy, political culture, and international security. His academic journey began with a BA in American Studies from the University of Kent, followed by an MA in International Affairs from American University. He completed his DPhil at the University of Sussex and has held positions at esteemed institutions including the University of Oxford and Lancaster University. McCrisken's research critiques the impact of military force on contemporary American foreign policy, particularly in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. He has authored and co-authored notable publications, including works on presidential policy and representation in popular culture, and he is currently engaged in projects exploring the influence of figures such as David Bowie on political narratives. Additionally, he has contributed to discussions on drone warfare, exceptionalism in American politics, and the historical context of Hollywood's depiction of international relations. Trevor has served as Head of North America Region at the consultancy group Oxford Analytica and held a significant role on the Board of Trustees at BASIC.
