Biography

Tricia Vause is a Professor in the Department of Child and Youth Studies at Brock University. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst-Doctoral. Vause's research interests primarily focus on behavioral assessment and treatment for children and youth, with a particular emphasis on Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), dual diagnosis challenges, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive behavior. She has extensive experience working in medical and counseling centers, residential training facilities, and school-based programs across Canada and the United States. Tricia completed a randomized controlled trial investigating the efficacy of manualized functional behaviour-based cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) in treating obsessive-compulsive behavior in children and youth with high functioning autism, funded by the Ontario Mental Health Foundation and the Ministry of Long-Term Care. Currently, she is working to extend her research to interventions for preschool-aged children. Vause has presented her work at local, national, and international conferences, with a focus on applied behaviour analysis and behavioral cognitive therapies.
