Biography

Trina Gregory is an Associate Professor in the Department of Technology and Applied Computing at the Viterbi School of Engineering, University of Southern California. She teaches computer programming and technology-focused courses to undergraduate students, utilizing her extensive experience in the computer science industry. After earning her Bachelor's degree in Mathematics-Computer Science from the University of California - San Diego, she worked for 13 years in the field, including designing and managing software for the Department of Defense at SAIC. Her academic career began at San Diego State University, where she ignited her passion for teaching before joining USC in 2007. Gregory holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Doctoral degree in Organizational Change Leadership, both from USC. Her research focuses on enhancing learning environments for undergraduate engineering students, with particular emphasis on improving engineering identity and increasing the graduation rates of women in engineering. She regularly updates her curriculum to include the latest technologies and has taught courses in Python, Java, Swift, Objective-C, and mobile app development. An active supporter of student organizations, Gregory holds office hours twice a week to assist students with their academic goals.
