Biography

Trina McFadyen graduated from Robson Hall in 2000 and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2001, subsequently being called to the Alberta Bar in 2005. She began her legal career with Cargill's legal department and completed her articles at Aikins MacAulay & Thorvaldson. Following her call to the Manitoba Bar, she practiced civil litigation at Thompson Dorfman Sweatman and later focused on the litigation department of Great-West Life Assurance Company. After a decade of practicing law, Trina took time off to raise her children while continuing to work part-time and volunteer for community organizations. In March 2021, she returned to law as the Director of Professional Development at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law. In this role, she creates and implements programs to assist law students with employment and professional opportunities, collaborates with student groups, and cultivates relationships with Robson Hall alumni, the local legal community, and national and international organizations. Trina leads the law school’s alumni initiatives, serves as the EDI liaison for the University of Manitoba, and chairs the EDI Committee.
