Biography

Trine Agervig Carstensen is an Associate Professor in Urban Planning at the University of Copenhagen's Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management. Her research focuses on the interaction between people's everyday lives and the urban built and natural environments, with special attention to the implications of this interaction in urban planning, governance, and management, and sustainable mobility. She is interested in marginalized citizen groups, including children and socially disadvantaged individuals, and how they use, experience, and value urban public spaces. Trine has led several projects, including the European Forum on Urban Agriculture and studies on social mobilization in deprived urban neighborhoods, as well as sustainable urban mobility. With a strong background in supervising PhD students, she has guided eight scholars in the past 15 years and currently oversees multiple PhD candidates. Trine's teaching includes courses in Urban Sociology, Urban Theory, and Urban Politics within the Landscape Architecture program, along with supervising bachelor and master's theses.
