Dr. Tristan Breedlove

Biography

Tristan Breedlove is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Wisconsin Law School, primarily involved with the Criminal Appeals Project at the Frank J. Remington Center. He teaches Advanced Criminal Procedure: Representing Criminal Appellant and works full-time as an Assistant State Public Defender in the Madison Appellate office of the Wisconsin State Public Defender. His practice entails litigation in Wisconsin circuit courts, the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Tristan has extensive experience, having worked for years at the Wisconsin Public Defender's office, and previously at Godfrey & Kahn in Milwaukee on the litigation team. He received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where he also served as Executive Editor of the American Criminal Law Review. Prior to law school, he worked with the Children's Defense Fund in Washington D.C. and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota.
