Biography

Trude Renwick is a Lecturer in Architectural Studies at the University of Manchester. Her ethnographic research explores the relationship between commerce and spiritual space within modern contemporary Thailand. With an interdisciplinary background in anthropology and architectural history, her work addresses issues related to inequality and aesthetics in Southeast Asia. Previously, she served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Society of Fellows in the Humanities at the University of Hong Kong, and as a Fellow at the International Institute for Asian Studies. Renwick holds a PhD in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley (2021), a Master's in Design Studies from Harvard University (2012), and a Bachelor's in Anthropology and Urban Studies from Brandeis University (2010).
