Dr. Trudy Kao

Biography

Trudy Kao, FNP-BC, is a Clinical Instructor in Family Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, where she has been a faculty member since 2021. Trudy completed her family health training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing in Philadelphia in 2013. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Her professional experience includes providing college health services since 2017 at the University of Pennsylvania and Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles. Trudy has a strong passion for community health, and her research interests focus on LGBTQ health, preventative care, and sexual and reproductive health. She believes in the importance of shared decision-making and empowering patients to become health advocates. As an educator, Trudy is committed to fostering a supportive learning environment for her students at USC.
