Dr. Trudy Van Houten

Biography

Trudy Van Houten is an Assistant Professor at Boston University's Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine, where she has been affiliated for over 20 years. She specializes in Anatomy and Neurobiology. Van Houten has been instrumental in developing clinical pre-clinical anatomy electives and novel anatomical dissection strategies based on clinical procedures and surgical approaches. She has also served as the Director of the Clinical Applications Anatomy course and Co-Director of the Human Body course at Harvard Medical School. Her educational credentials include a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA from Temple University, and a BA from Arcadia University. Recognized for her commitment to teaching excellence, she has received the Faculty Prize for Excellence in Teaching and the Irving M. London Teaching Award from Harvard Medical School. Van Houten is currently involved in various initiatives related to medical education.
