Tsu-Jae King Liu received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. She joined Xerox Palo Alto Research Center as a Member of Research Staff in 1992, focusing on high-performance thin-film transistor technologies for flat-panel display applications. In 1996, she joined the faculty of the University of California, Berkeley, holding the Roy W. Carlson Distinguished Professorship in Engineering. From 2000 to 2008, she served as Faculty Director of the UC Berkeley Microfabrication Laboratory, and from July 2004 to June 2006, she held the position of Senior Director at Synopsys, Inc. Liu served as Associate Dean for Research at the College of Engineering at UC Berkeley from 2008 to 2012 and as Chair of the Electrical Engineering Division from 2012 to 2016. Her research interests include advanced materials and fabrication processes for energy-efficient electronics. Liu has authored and co-authored over 500 publications and holds 90 patents. She is a Fellow of the IEEE and a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, and she serves on the Board of Directors of Intel Corporation.
