Biography

Tuna Baskoy is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Toronto Metropolitan University. He completed his PhD in Political Science at York University in 2006. He also holds a Master of Arts in Political Science and Public Administration from Bilkent University and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. His research and teaching interests are focused on research methods, statistics, computer applications, and comparative public policy and administration, with a particular emphasis on competition/antitrust telecommunications policies, theories of capitalist market competition, political economy, European integration, and e-government/e-democracy. He is currently completing a comparative study of the extraterritorial enforcement of U.S. and E.U. competition/antitrust policies. Dr. Baskoy has been involved in organizing the first and second International Conference on Social Organizational Informatics and Cybernetics in Orlando, Florida, and serves on the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Economics and Sociology. He is a member of the International Institute of Informatics and Systemics (IIIS), the European Community Studies Association-Canada (ECSA-C), and the Young Researchers Network – Canada (YRN).
